    Air Fry Saskatoon Berry Turnovers

    (8 servings)

    Prep Time: 20-25 minutes
    Cook Time: 12-15 minutes
    Total Time: 32-40 minutes

    What you’ll need

    • 2 cups fresh or frozen saskatoon berries (or blueberries)
    • ¼ cup Maple syrup
    • Juice of 1 medium navel orange
    • 1 tablespoon orange zest
    • 2 teaspoons cornstarch
    • 1 package butter puff pastry, defrosted according to package instructions
    • 1 egg
    • cane sugar or icing sugar, for sprinkling


    Cooking Instructions

    1. Add the berries, maple syrup, orange juice and zest to a pot over medium heat. Cook, stirring often until the berries soften, about 10-15 minutes.
    2. Dissolve cornstarch into 1 tablespoon of water, then pour into the berry mixture.
    3. Remove pot from heat, stirring the mixture thickens like jam.
    4. Roll out and cut the butter puff pastry into 4-6 equal size squares (depending on pastry length). Spoon the berry filling into the centers of each square.
    5. Fold the pastry over to form a triangle, and crimp the edges together tightly with a fork.
    6. Whisk the egg with 1 tablespoon of water, and brush the egg wash onto the tops of the pastry.
    7. Line air fry basket with parchment paper, and lightly spray with cooking oil. Transfer the pastries into the basket, and sprinkle with sugar.
    8. Air fry in the Whirlpool® 7-in-1 Air Fry Oven at 425℉ for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown.
    9. Leave for an additional 2-3 minutes (but keep an eye on them!) if you prefer a deeper golden colour.
    10. Dust some icing sugar over top of your final product.
